Your First Visit

Welcome to Straight Smile Studio! We’re excited you’re coming in for your first visit. Please complete our Patient Registration Form before coming in.

We strive to make your experience at Straight Smile Studio fun, comfortable, and informative. During your complimentary consultation, we will take time to look at your dental records and examine your bite and teeth. Then, we will discuss potential treatment options!

To prepare for this visit, we ask that you bring any referral information with you (keep in mind that we don’t require referrals), x-rays, and a list of medications you are currently taking.

Once we determine your treatment plan, we will want to see you every 6-10 weeks to check your progress and make necessary adjustments.  We can’t wait to help you achieve the smile you deserve!

Financial Considerations & Insurance

We firmly believe that financial considerations should not keep you from having a beautiful and confident smile. That’s why we offer a variety of payment options to make orthodontics accessible and affordable.

In addition to our interest-free in-house payment plans, we accept Care Credit, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Make sure to ask about our multi-family treatments and pay-in-full incentive programs.

Don’t hesitate to reach out for more information!

Appointment Policy

Straight Smile Studio is open Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. We will schedule your appointment for a time and day that works best for your schedule. If you have an emergency situation, we will do everything we can to see you that same day.
If for some reason you cannot make it to your appointment, please contact our office. This allows us to reschedule your appointment in a timely manner, and prevent the potential for an unnecessary extension of treatment time.

Please note: Failure to attend your scheduled appointment without a 24-hour notice, will result in a $25 fee. If you call to change your appointment after hours, you can simply leave your name, number, and a brief message in our voicemail and we will return your call when we return.

Oral Hygiene

Oral hygiene is a vital part of orthodontic treatment and will help ensure you have a healthy and beautiful smile for years to come. We understand that brushing and flossing can be difficult with certain appliances, but Dr. Brian and Dr. Steve can teach you how to best clean your teeth and braces during your appointments and let you know if there are any spots you need to focus on.

We encourage you to check your braces once a week for anything loose or bent. If a bracket or band comes loose, if you break a wire, or if you lose your rubber bands, please call either of our offices so we can ensure you get the care you need to keep your treatment on track. You can use the diagram provided to explain what has happened, taking special care to be as specific as possible with our receptionist.

For further guidance on proper brushing and flossing techniques, please refer to the “Orthodontic Brushing and Flossing Procedure” handout that you received at your bonding appointment. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our offices.

Emergency Care

While true orthodontic emergencies are rare, emergency care for orthodontic patients is occasionally needed. Many issues are easily fixed with guided patient intervention. What to do if you have an emergency: Emergency appointments may be made if you’re experiencing serious discomfort, or if you have a loose band, a broken wire, or something sticking out that you are unable to take care of.

Knowing the names of the different parts of your appliance can help us understand the issue better, allowing us to provide the best care possible when trying to schedule an emergency appointment, and giving you a solution to any discomfort in the meantime.  Our priority is to provide excellent care to our patients, and we will always make an effort to correct any problems as quickly as possible.

If you have an emergency that needs professional attention, please call our Mechanicsburg office at 717-697-8222 or our Carlisle office at 717-243-3200, option 9.

*Please Note: For an emergency in-office visit, a $25 after-hours fee will be charged.
